I’m in a situation where I feel like I have not much of a social life and I’m single. I’ve thought about trying online dating but I’m insecure about not having a lot of friends and feel like a quality guy will not be into that. Help!

A lot of people on online dating sites are probably in the same boat. Not having a ton of friends doesn’t make you a loser, it could just be that you’re shy, that you have a hard time meeting people, or have grown away from your friends since going your seperate ways (like after high school, college, a move, etc.). I think a quality guy would be fine with your not having many friends as long as you were as well. Who knows, maybe meeting a guy would be a way to make some new friends. If you have someone to hang out with, you could go out and socialize more or maybe one of his buddies has a GF that you’d get along with? Really, you don’t have much to lose. You can try it and possibly find a great person, or you can sit around and continue to be single. Good luck!

These days it is becoming quite popular with online dating, it is just a way of like minded individuals to meet. There are many quality guys online, just be careful though. Try eharmony.com or match.com. And just be open with other venues as well, church groups, your office; join a social club. And also let your family and friends know that you are looking.
